IT Governance Strategy in University (SK)

Michal Greguš Vice-Rector for IT /Comenius University in Bratislava

Information systems in large corporations and organizations face today the problem of high complexity and variety of systems. The necessity of interconnecting these systems and providing demanded IT services requires the cooperation of people of different professions across the entire organization. Building such an interconnected system requires a lot of attention and awareness to coordination, planning and implementation.

Without good and effective communication, an effort to understand the needs of the customer-user and at the same time manage a demanding technical solution, it is not possible to successfully implement IS development.

However, in the academic environment and also in the state administration, we encounter other problems, especially in connection with public procurement, private sector competition in HR and, last but not least, financing and sustainability of existing and new system solutions.
