Global trends in AI regulation and associated technology standards (EN)

A review of the regulatory approaches to AI across eight key jurisdictions in Europe, North-America and Asia. Based on this review we identify five key trends that are likely to define the governance requirements for AI systems in the near future as well as related actions for companies to take. On the practical implementation side we review how these regulatory developments are supported by ongoing work at international (ISO/IEC), regionals (CEN-CENELC) and national (NIST) standards development bodies with additional efforst at global coordination bodies such as the OECD AI Governance working group and the U.S.-EU Trande and Technology Council aimed at prmoting coherence and interoperability between jurisdictions.
