Kaimar Karu

Mr Kaimar Karu has been working at the intersection of technology, policy-making, and business management, most recently as the Minister of Foreign Trade and Information Technology of the Republic of Estonia.

Prior to taking office in November 2019, Mr Karu was living in London, UK, running a consultancy business focusing on strategy and decision-making in complex environments. This role was preceded by a global role of the Head of Product Strategy and Development for AXELOS, a joint venture with the UK Cabinet Office and Capita plc, managing the Global Best Practice product portfolio that includes the ITIL framework for IT Service Management and the PRINCE2 method for Project Management.

His successful career in the world of technology includes both specialist and managerial positions at various startups and international technology companies, e.g. Skype, Epicor, and Oracle. Mr Karu is a published author and a frequent keynote speaker at international technology events. He holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy.
